2012-2013 Artist Posters

Artist Research Poster

I was really blown away with this years Artist Posters. I've learned that when students have example artwork to refer to they really strive to do even better. Having examples opens their imaginations to how far they can push the envelope of creation.

Artist History Mini Putt

Art History Mini Putt Project

When I first saw this project on http://apexhsart.blogspot.ca/search/label/art%20history I thought it was brilliant. My Students were so engaged. I've never seen them work so hard. I was so impressed with how well they worked together. However the results may not have all been 100% functional the whole process was a lot of fun and worth it. This project took approximatly ten, 50 min periods.

The last day before Christmas holidays our school had an activity day where all students participated in various activities. I set the Mini Putt project up in the school cafeteria for students to play. It was a great hit. I look forward to doing it again next year.

Art History on a Bottle

Art History on a Bottle
Willo

This was a really great but somewhat challenging project. The students were really excited and motivated to get started. I found this lesson originally using found chairs as the base material and always wanted to do it, but it would have been to difficult to find that many chairs and I don't have space for them, so when i found this lesson i knew it was perfect. I found the original  lesson from:
