Space Museums- 2-3 Point Perspective Drawings

I first found this project by Ken Vieth in his book From Ordinary to Extraordinary.  I did it two years ago, but  it was quite challenging as I was a new teacher. This year I have an excellent grade 9 group that I seem to be able to do anything with. They don't complain and they are very successful. I couldn't ask for better groups.

Colour Wheel

Colour Wheel

There are several ways of having students create colours wheels. many found on Pinterest. I had my students find figures in magazines, cut them out and trace them 12 times. Then each class I had them paint a section of colours. Such as: red to yellow. Note: This was a long project. Next year I will try to find something that doesn't take as long.

Keith Haring Figure Drawing

KEITH HARING FIGURE DRAWING

I found the original lesson from http://dalimoustache.blogspot.ca/. I found this lesson ubber fun and I think my students did to. First I created a power point introducing Keith Haring and his techniques. We focused on his figure drawings. Then I created a hand out similar to the one created on the website a found the lesson on.

Students created 20 of their own figure drawings. I was worried that 20 was to much but they proved me wrong. many students were able to come up with their own creative interpretations of his work. I was very impressed. I stood up at the front of the class for the first four drawings and had students create figure drawings of me using Keith's style.
